My Simple Shopping List is a free, ad-supported Android application. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how the app handles your data.
By default, all app data, including your lists, items and store names, is stored on your device only. The app does not send it to any server unless you choose to share a list, as described below. Uninstalling the app deletes the data stored on your device.
If Android's device backup is turned on for your phone, Android may include the app's data in your device backup in your Google account. This is controlled by your phone's backup settings, not by the app.
You can choose to share a list with other people. Sharing is off unless you turn it on for a list or join someone else's list. No account, email address or phone number is required.
When a list is shared, the following is stored on Google's servers using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication):
Lists that you do not share are never uploaded.
Who can see a shared list. Only people the list's owner has approved can open a shared list. Everyone on a shared list can see and change its contents and can see the names of the other people on it. The developer operates the Firebase project and so has technical access to the data stored in it, but does not use shared lists for any purpose other than providing the sharing feature. Shared list data is not used for advertising and is not sold.
How long it is kept. A shared list stays on the servers until its owner stops sharing it or deletes it, which removes it from the servers. If you leave a list you joined, your name and identifier are removed from that list. Each person keeps a copy of the list on their own device. Shared lists that have not been used for 12 months may be deleted from the servers.
Deleting your data. To remove a shared list from the servers, open the list in the app and choose "Stop sharing" (if you own it) or "Leave list" (if you joined it). Do this before uninstalling the app, because uninstalling only deletes the data on your device. You can also ask for your shared data to be deleted by contacting us at the address below.
Apart from the optional sharing feature described above and the advertising described below, this app does not collect, store, or share any personal information. No account or sign-in is required to use the app.
This app uses Google AdMob to display banner advertisements. AdMob may collect and use data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads. For more information, please review Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from apps that use their services.

This app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
